Membership Levels

All membership levels have the following benefits:

  • 24/7 access to the shop via an access card/fob
  • Voting rights in membership votes
  • Access to the Twin Cities Maker chat server to connect online with your fellow makers

For most memberships there is a $20 setup fee for the first month’s dues to help cover the costs of your access badge and various administrative fees.

Standard - $55 ($75 for the first month)

This is the membership level for most makers at the space.

You can get a discount by buying more months at once:

  • 6 month membership: $275 (one free month)
  • Yearly membership: $550 (two free months)

Student - $30 ($50 for the first month)

If you are currently enrolled as a student you are eligible for a discounted membership rate. Just show us your student ID when signing up (or email us a photo to [email protected] when signing up online) and we will get you set up with the student rate.

Senior - $30 ($50 for the first month)

If you are of retirement age (67) you are eligible for a discounted membership rate. Just show us your ID or other proof of age when signing up (or email us a photo to [email protected] when signing up online) and we will get you set up with the senior rate.

Community Supported - Pay What You Can

Not all members of our community are able to pay the standard membership rate and that is okay. To these people we offer our Community Supported Membership rate. This has no strings attached, no need to prove anything about your income level or any of that. It is a full membership with all the rights and privileges of the standard membership, no distinction. You pay what you can and we all keep making, sharing, and learning together. This membership level also does not have the initial $20 administrative fee.

Family Membership

Members on the “Standard” (including 6-month and Yearly) membership plan can add one family member at no extra charge. Our definition of “family” is two people living at the same address. The family member will get their own key to the facility, their own clubhouse account, and is a full member of the makerspace in their own right.

To add a family member to your membership, they must also fill out the new member paperwork. In the “Attach my membership to (name):” field on the new member form, fill in the primary member's name.

Please note: Student, senior, and community supported memberships are not eligible for a family membership.

Changing Membership Type

You can change your membership type and payment schedule (monthly vs. 6-month vs. yearly) through the online membership system at any time. If you need to change your membership type to Student or Senior please email [email protected]
